Health insurance

Admitted students from Canada are provided with the option of automatically adhering to ASEQ (Quebec Association for Student Health) coverage. For details on what is covered by this health plan as well as opt-out procedures, please refer to the information contained at the website listed below.

Compulsory Health Insurance for International Students

Health insurance is obligatory for foreign students who aim at studying in Canadian universities. Admitted foreign students must therefore subscribe to a three-session Group Health and Hospitalisation Insurance plan at their first registration.

There are two types of health insurance for international students provided by INRS-EMT through ASEQ:
  1. Typical Health Insurance

This health insurance is mandatory and its fees can be paid per session or per year:
    Per session: 308,00 $
    Per year: 924,00 $

  2. Complementary Health Insurance

The complementary health insurance includes the foreign student’s dental care fees not covered by the typical health insurance. This health insurance is optional and only applicable for Autumn and Winter sessions of each year:
    Per session: 72,31 $
